About WAPA

The Association was formed in 1982. Prior to that an organisation existed called the Standing Conference of Welsh Arts Centres and Companies.   This was primarily a talking shop and it was felt that a different, more purposeful, group was needed.

WAPA therefore came into being with a specific aim of campaigning and lobbying on behalf of its members who include almost all the professional producing companies in Wales.  The Association is run by a voluntary Executive committee of eight, elected from the membership, every two years.

Amdano CCPC

Ffurfiwyd y Gymdeithas ym 1982. Cyn hynny, roedd sefydliad o’r enw Cynhadledd Sefydlog Canolfannau Celfyddydau a Chwmnïau Cymru yn bod. Siop siarad oedd hyn yn bennaf, a theimlid fod angen grwp gwahanol, mwy pwrpasol.

Sefydlwyd CCPC, gan hynny, â’r nod benodol o ymgyrchu a dadlau ar ran ei aelodau sy’n cynnwys bron pob cwmni cynhyrchu proffesiynol yng Nghymru. Rhedir y Gymdeithas gan Bwyllgor Gwaith gwirfoddol o wyth, a etholir o blith yr aelodaeth bob dwy flynedd.
